Hugging each other in fear we sat silently in our tent. Peeking through the front door we saw Mr. Rigby quietly getting out of his tent. We shuddered upon realizing he had an ax in his hand. Longer and much larger then my boat, curious mammals swam silently just under the surface of the just thawed arctic water. Carefully they began checking out the intrude- me. Blood was everywhere! Jordyn was crying for them not to put it back in and not to touch it! I could only. "Dave! Look at this! Tornadoes are heading right at where our trip is camped!" Diane exclaimed. My head began to spin. Tornadoes, no prescription. "But the Ozark canoe trip; that was my dream! That was my goal. I just had to go!" wrote twelve-year old student, Courtney Kramer, in her journal. "Hudson Bay! I want to paddle on Hudson Bay!" exclaimed fifty-four year old teacher, David Rigby, when asked what his dream was. Dreams! Teacher and student strive to make their dreams a reality but sometimes dreams don't turn out as expected. Then again, sometimes they are even better!

The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century. ++++ The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. Reading Autoethnography situates autoethnographic insights within the context of two fundamental concerns of critical qualitative inquiry: justice and love. Through philosophical engagement, it gives close readings of written passages taken from leading autoethnographers and frames the philosophical project of autoethnography as one that is both political and interpersonal. It does this to highlight how autoethnographic lessons can allow us to think through how we may achieve a flourishing for all — something that is both related to justice as it pertains to the political, and when situations are in excess of justice, related to love as it pertains to feeling at home in the world with others. As such, this book will be of interest to those who have a burgeoning interest in autoethnography and seasoned autoethnographers alike; anyone interested in critical qualitative inquiry as a discourse promoting justice and love; and any scholar who has encountered the ethical question of: "What ought we do?"

Sparks from the Smiddy tells the life story of David Wilson, a sixth generation blacksmith and world champion farrier (a craftsman who trims and shoes horses' hooves). The book includes details of David's memories of annoying his father as a child by nailing horse shoes to the smiddy floor, his first experience of trying to catch a horse, the hard work he put into learning his trade, along with picking up and running the family business. The story follows the highs and lows of David's earliest competitions through to his ultimate win at the 1985 World Championship in Calgary, Canada. And, it concludes with tales of the travel opportunities that his work and successes opened up to him, including meeting the Princess Royal in 1995. Told in a humorous yet modest style, and including 60 of David's photos, Sparks from the Smiddy sheds light on this previously unreported aspect of working and shoeing horses, helping readers to understand the skills of a farrier and giving a nostalgic look back over this important part of rural life. This book is a warehouse of stories of many deaths around me and my family and how I coped with them. It deals with lifes vicissitudes and unshakable faith which will encourage readers to effectively cope with loss. Readers will understand Gods unfailing love and develop faith that will help them persevere in the face of adversity. They will also understand Gods grace which is the cornerstone of success in any human endeavor. Salvation is another important component of this book, and I have joyfully related and reiterated its necessity for eternity. An important and interesting part of this book deals with my encounter with a known atheist, and what happened afterward will surprise readers. Moreover, this book was prayerfully written and will remain a glorious and anointed masterpiece for ages to come. It can also serve an academic purpose, especially for those in the arts and social sciences with particular focus on the subject of bereavement. I have no doubt that it will make a big and positive impact on those who read, and more importantly, meditate on it. Frances Ebisike-Eboh writes with a raw emotion giving you a pick into the lab of real life experiences with life and death. Her personal experiences through the peaks and valleys of life are inspiring, and her honesty about struggles with faith in the dark seasons of life is refreshing. Pastor Russell Hodgins. What incredible stories that will be sure to encourage you and open your eyes to the many ways God might be working in your life. Pastor David VanDonge.
