"Thomas Wingfold, Curate or The Curate's Awakening" is the first novel of the series that begins with the story of a compliant and lifeless curate in the Church of England and the profound changes that happen in his life and the people around him. Thomas Wingfold is a clergyman who is losing belief in the faith, but he goes through many transformations as the story unfolds. "Paul Faber, Surgeon or The Lady's Confession" is the sequel to The Curate's Awakening and it tells the story of a village doctor and a proven atheist. His friend and village curate, Thomas Wingfold is trying to bring him closer to the Church, but constantly ends up failing in those attempts. Doctor believes that only victories and tragedies of life can bring one to Jesus. However, after one accident, Faber saves life of a beautiful woman and they fall in love, but her secret past comes in between. "There and Back or The Baron's Apprenticeship" is the third and final novel that completes the series. Another story about finding faith in God follows a life-changing journey of Baron Richard from skeptical atheist to a true believer. The main character sets quite an example of manhood for young people. George MacDonald (1824-1905) was a Scottish author, poet, and Christian minister. He was a pioneering figure in the field of fantasy literature and the mentor of fellow writer Lewis Carroll. His writings have been cited as a major literary influence by many notable authors including W. H. Auden, C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Walter de la Mare, E. Nesbit and Madeleine L'Engle.

In 1970s Italy, after the decline of the Spaghetti Western, crime films became the most popular, profitable and controversial genre. In a country plagued with violence, political tensions and armed struggle, these films managed to capture the anxiety and anger of the times in their tales of tough cops, ruthless criminals and urban paranoia. Recent years have seen renewed critical interest in the genre, thanks in part to such illustrious fans as Quentin Tarantino. This book examines all of the 220+ crime films produced in Italy between 1968 and 1980, the period when the genre first appeared and grew to its peak. Entries include a complete cast and crew list, home video releases, a plot summary and the author's own analysis. Excerpts from a variety of sources are included: academic texts, contemporary reviews, and interviews with filmmakers, scriptwriters and actors. There are many onset stills and film posters.

Dinosaur Jr, the stereotypical slackers. Mascis, Barlow, Murph (just Murph): three early-twentysomethings still overburdened by a torpid adolescence and a disastrous dress sense. With battered guitar, bass, and kit, they carry around a catalogue of songs that betrays identities half-formed at best, schizoid at worst. But listen. 1987, a new album, a snapshot of a moment when a furious musical intensity swung upwards and pushed their lyrics and Mascis's vocal whine far into the margins. Searing riffs, mountainous solos, and the tightest of fills – underpinned by stream-of-consciousness structures and a palette of crazed effects – steal the show. These three build a one-off sound that stirred up the hardening alternative mainstream and drove it to distraction. You're Living All Over Me: supposedly Mascis's indictment of what it was like to tour in a van with these other two misfits, but also testimony to the obsession – an itch, a disease – that the band's disengagement from their world had produced. This record cares so little it cares a lot.
