John's Amazing Mystery: The Unveiling draws back the curtain, lets in the light, and allows the biblical epic of Revelation to become user-friendly. Current events are laid alongside the ancient text, and its numerous parables are translated into living language and recognisable situations. The book accepts that global trauma may point to a present-day Apocalypse, though this is seen as just one alternative in several scenarios. The writer sets the scene by first drawing attention to what Jesus said about His promised return to earth and what we may expect will happen in the Last Days. The book then follows the outline of Revelation through seven astounding visions, each of which is analysed according to a set pattern. The cracking of codes is a feature of the work. Some innovative methods are employed whereby the mysterious becomes visible and believable. The book is set within the context of eternal issues.

Learn tools and techniques you can use in any Biblical study and then explore the History of Israel. Use what you learn to analyze Old Testament prophecies and apocalyptic writings - all in preparation for comparing accounts of what Jesus told His disciples on the Mount of Olives and for analyzing the Revelation given to John. Round out your experience with in-depth studies of end-times players such as the Antichrist and the 144,000 'redeemed from the earth'. Finally, explore in great detail the major rapture positions and challenges presented by each.Ron Braley's book, Finding the End of the World, is a great resource for any serious student of God's Word. However, it will frustrate those who look to it for easy answers to questions surrounding the books of Daniel and Revelation, events of the End Times, and eschatological controversies. Instead, the author gives the reader and student the tools to delve into the Scriptures and discover the answers. Caution: This may lead the reader to question and even jettison some previously held views of the End of Times. While offering historical and theological background materials to consider, I believe the greatest value of this book is the study tools, guides and exercises it offers each student. The result is creating students of the Bible who know how to read and study for themselves. Ron Almberg, Jr. (B.A., Th.B., M.Div.).Ron Braley lives in Texas with Joanne, his wife of 27 years. They have 4 grown children and 2 grandchildren. Passion for spreading the Gospel and helping others to build their faith has led to the development of this comprehensive guide and the creation of Finding Discipleship, Inc. The classic "All" series books have graced the shelves of pastors, students, and laypeople alike for decades. "All about The Second Coming" continues in the series' tradition of offering a faithful and comprehensive treatment of biblical subjects. Herbert Lockyer opens this work with disturbing words: "The doctrine of the Second Coming is one of the most abused and distorted in the Bible." To correct these abuses and distortions, he undertakes a detailed study of the book of Revelation. "Let us," he says, "read what the Bible has to say about Christ's coming, taking every reference at its face value." Section by section--sometimes verse by verse--he traces what this mysterious book says about the history of the world from Pentecost to the Rapture of the Church, from the Tribulation to the Great White Throne. He sheds light on often-troubling images and descriptions, helping readers feel as if they understand the message of Revelation. An appendix describes the rich significance of the many numbers appearing in Revelation, and the scripture index aids readers in finding answers to their specific questions.

It was a firm belief in the ways of providence and the first stirrings of greater political freedom, says Aberth (history, U. of Nebraska), that allowed European communities to endure the full share and more of misery that befell them during the later Middle Ages. He takes his themes from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to describe responses to the Great Famine and the Black Death that swept away nearly half of the continent's population, while English and French leaders occupied themselves with the Hundred Years War. Get back to the roots on Revelation Through the centuries since its writing, the book of Revelation has captured the fascination of the Christian church. The earliest Christians were unanimous in understanding it along a premillennial view of Jesus' second coming, but other hermeneutical approaches began to emerge in the third century. These clouded, and added complexity to, the task of explaining the book’s meaning. For most of the Christian era, consequently, many readers have viewed this last of the NT writings as though it were hopelessly embedded in an aura of deep mystery. An avalanche of interpretive literature has evidenced remarkable interest in the book’s contents, but along with the interest has come widespread bewilderment. Written especially for the informed layman, student, and scholar, this commentary seeks to clear the air. The book is interpreted according to a historical and grammatical hermeneutic and propounds a conservative, evangelical theology, but the reader will not get a narrow view on areas of disagreement. This commentary interacts with a range of major views, both evangelical and nonevangelical. It reaffirms the basic framework of eschatology espoused by ancient Christianity, but with added help from centuries of maturing thought and doctrinal progress in the Body of Christ. All exegesis and exposition in this 2-volume commentary are based on the original language of the text. Translations used are those of the author, and textual criticism and word study are included where appropriate. This in-depth commentary also includes extended excursuses on important topics of theological and historical interest.
